Throwing Away Her Entire Wardrobe at 17 - Modesty with Joana Sosa
Have you been feeling a nudge towards dressing more modestly but don’t know where to even start? We often overcomplicate modesty while failing to see the heart behind it. The way we dress and carry ourselves as women of God is an outward expression of inward transformation. In today’s episode Milena sits down with Joana Sosa, a modest fashion influencer who has been instrumental in helping Milena embrace a modest wardrobe by proving that modesty can still be stylish! Joana shares her journey from intentionally showing off her body in revealing clothing, to throwing away her entire wardrobe at 17, and how she truly encountered God right in the midst of it all. We all have to start somewher...

“What if my parents aren’t deserving of honor?” “You don’t know what they did to me!” You’re right. We don’t know your exact story and we’re not claiming to. The truth is our parents will not always be deserving of honor. And yet the truth is we’re called to honor them anyway. In this episode we publicly acknowledge the mistakes that we’ve made regarding honoring our own parents and what honori...

Stop Letting Other Kids Raise Your Kids

Who has the most influence over your children? Whose voice does your child value the most? As parents, we’d love to think it was us, but more often than not, it’s actually other children. Peer-centered settings in school, church, and extracurriculars have created an environment where our kids are surrounded by children their age for the vast majority of their days. What’s the problem with this?...

With our little one we do a 25 day advent with the Shepherd's Treasure (highly recommend) to search for baby Jesus and she gets 3 gifts just like Jesus was gifted 3 things. This includes making a cake or cupcakes to prepare for His birthday.

I wear leggings as a base layer in winter, but I totally get the extra sensory issue. I also wear thermal bottoms. I would highly recommend legwarmers as an option for layering, not only are they helpful for keeping warm, but legwarmers are also very accessible and can be easily removed or added on when needed.

One night I went to the store late at night and there was a woman sitting in the parking lot. And something in my heart was telling me to talk to her and invite her to my home. But being over cautious of course I hessitated to talk to her, besides saying "Hello" as I walked passed quickly into the store. But I couldnt brush off the feeling like I needed to talk to her and possibly invite her for dinner. So I hurried along the store grabbing my items, and thought Ill come outside and Ill do it, ill talk to her. I was only in the store for 5 min or so, so I assumed she would still be sitting there alone.. But when I walked out to my suprise she dissapeared . To this day I wonder if she was an angel, I missed to invite

Honoring parents should be for parents that are honorable. Talking about the issue with a close friend is only slander if it's false. Sometimes you need to talk about these things in order to process them or they are going through something similar and want guidance or to just hear they aren't alone. I think you guys should read Matthew 18 where Jesus gives clear directions on how to gain a person back after they have sinned against you and "If the person still refuses to listen, take your case to the Church. Then if he or she won't accept the church's decision, treat that person as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector." He also says to forgive debt and talks about a king who forgave a servant but that servant wouldn't forgive one of his servants of the debt he owed. So he was thrown in jail. Jesus says to forgive from the heart but says nothing about having to have a relationship with them.

Not to mention comments like that are usually always from people that are for pushing CRT and gender theory in schools. “How dare you raise your children according to your beliefs! Only we can dictate what your child hears!” They literally don’t see the irony in that either. The left has let it slip time and time again by saying things like, “they’re OUR children” umm no ma’am these children are mine and you will not get any where near them with your upside down thinking!

I love you both and your content but I don’t feel as tho your qualified to speak about the nitty gritty of “true toxic parents” and how or what a the child should do however cause going through real actual abuse mentally and emotionally and mainly physical abuse then to go from parental abuse to spousal abuse by any means Dragged acrossed the floor by your hair for eating a bag of m&ms by a evil step father beaten with a belt to the point that their is welps thrown into walls and shamed and humiliated for wearing makeup cause your insecure of acne then proceeds to slap me so hard called me a whore and then told me I would be 15 barefoot pregnant cause I wore makeup I also got dragged by my hair For putting lines in carpets when vacuuming who then groomed your baby sister and then an uncle who groomed both baby sister and middle sister and one time also groomed me did not know what it was but I knew something off and never had any contact with him ever again then to deal with the fact that both parents stole my biological dad inheritance and I was only 18 and my mother is a walking contradiction said one thing did another and stole my dads red car she had no business HAVING KIDS THE ABUSE SHE BLAMES IT ALL ON MY EVIL STEP FATHER AND SAID THAT HE TRIED TO UNALIVE ME AT ONE POINT WITH A KNIFE AT MY ESOPHAGUS (throat) I have to word my comment a way so it doesn’t violate their stupid rules the list continues to go on I WILL NEVER TURN TO BE LIKE THEM THEY GET GRACE IN CERTAIN AREAS MY FORGIVENESS TO THEM DOES NOT MEAN YOUR GOING TO GASLIGHT CONTROL MANIPULATE ME AND PUTTING MY FOOT DOWN AND YOU CROSS THE BOUNDARIES WE ARE DONE ITS LIKE YOUR 50 yrs old and she refuses to take accountability she also gets angry over the stupidest things getting angry over a spoon being on the table is not something to be angry over getting angry over a popped tire yes it’s frustrating that is a reason she thinks discipline is a smack across the face and belt whooping sometimes she will go as far as a extension cord which I have seen her do I threatened her with cps for hitting my baby brother with an extension cord I even told my mother when she was taking the belt and and spinning Bethany my sister at the time hitting her till my sister was turning blue from holding her breathe getting welps on top of welps and the bruise turning to straight up blue cause it broke blood vessels OVER A F**king necklace THEN SHE TURNED TO MY BABY SISTER AND I STOOD IN FRONT OF HER I SAID I WILL THROW YOUR WHITE ARSE OUT THIS WINDOW IF YOU DARE TOUCH SARAH she didn’t I said you and the belt will leave via the window and I will smile for mugshot she put the belt down I just hugged my middle sister she still blames David told her too otherwise he would have unalived all of us I said “you could escape my biological father who almost unalived me supposedly that I have no rmemory of but you could not say “NO” to David so no the amount of abuse was passed down to mom and everyone has effing trauma or abuse SEEK THERAPY AND TRUAMA REHABILITATION BEFORE YOU JUST OPEN YOUR LEGS AND HAVE KIDS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT HAVE KIDS PERIOD IF YOU CANT TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY IN THERAPY MYSELF TO BE AWARE SO MY KIDS NEVER SUFFER THE WAY I DID

So important to understand the spiritual realm to understand our spiritual warfare! Also, the Authorised Version (KJV) is the only true word of God. That's a whole study in itself! Recommend Sam Gipp, Peter Ruckman, Gail Riplinger, as well as just Googling Kjv vs other versions to compare scriptures. Other versions all come from the Roman Catholic church and attack key Christian doctrines such as hell, eternal security, Jesus' deity etc

The difference between what you’re doing and what some other parents are doing by sending their kids to school to be taught is that you are giving them one perspective of the world and claiming it’s the only truth, then blocking out the other perspectives by framing them as untrue meanwhile in our school’s kids get taught a variety of perspectives. I’m a current high school student and I’ve been taught about theology and the history of the world throughout my school life and these teachings are approached always from a variety of perspectives and possible truths. I haven’t been indoctrinated because I have the choice to believe in any of those perspectives and won’t be limited for that - only questioned by my peers and teachers if my belief in any of these perspectives takes a turn that ends up harming others or disrespecting them or becomes inherently extremist and harmful. For example, in science we are taught about the theory of evolution but we aren’t indoctrinated into thinking that that is inherently the only truth - we are simply told by our it teachers that this is a theory that the scientific method has come up with that explains many things about our earths existence and we have a choice on whether or not we take that as what we belief based on the evidence - meanwhile, in Christian spaces, it is drilled into children that god is the only truth and the only explaination and children are ostracized or belittled for thinking otherwise or bringing up the other alternatives and exploring the different alternate perspectives - leaving no room for inquisitive thought otherwise and limiting a child’s view of the universe. That’s indoctrination. Sorry for the ramble, I just don’t like seeing people completely misunderstand and misinterpret indoctrination to their viewership just because it feeds their narrative. As a young person, I’m glad to have the variety of perspective I’m getting in secular schooling from my parents and teachers that your kids likely don’t get from you.

Hey Milena! I truly love listening to what the Lord is doing in your family’s lives, it is so encouraging. Thank you for continuing to share. I will say I’ve been wrestling with this and wanted to bring up two areas of concern. In reading Ephesians 6, I think contextually it is speaking to children that are not of an age to speak for themselves. In John, when Jesus heals the blind man they ask his parents as a witness in which his parents respond that he was of age and could speak for himself. There’s so much scripture about a man leaving his household and finding a wife where they become one flesh. A woman submits herself to the authority of her husband. I think we are to financially care for our parents once they reach a certain age per 1 Timothy 5:4. I’m not in support of cancel culture in anyway and definitely do not think it is pleasing to the Lord when we mock or scoff at the older generation by calling them “boomers” or anything of that nature. I just think that we need to be order to reconcile scriptures when Jesus talks about in Matthew that he did not come to bring peace but to divide households.

Being a PK doesn’t make you a Christian, we raise our children in “the way” but they still need to have a real experience of salvation that’s their own. Until then, God is the God of their parents, and they still need to get saved, and then Jesus becomes their God. Salvation is the experience that changes lives, mindsets and behaviors, not rituals or clothing, that’s a result.

Today I moved out of my old place and honestly, a low income salary, low finances, and this unexpected moving situation has made me feel at my lowest of lows. I’ve doubted God and today, the stress of the move made me start making a plan of all the ways I was going to run away from God and go back to my life before Christ. After hearing y’all share about this loss and grieve it with much wisdom, one line shifted my view (and maybe saved me from becoming an atheist). “Don’t run from God, run to God.” If you can run to the Lord and run to Jordan like that, I’m pretty sure I can run to God like that. I felt how you ladies did for a long time about being more comfortable at home and I still do for to an extent but I have geared myself way more to even modesty in front of my children. Even though we are rising children in a Christian home, they are still going to walk their own walk with God and there is so much wickedness put before their eyes, maybe not in this moment but when they go into the world. We can’t perfectly protect them from worldly thoughts being put in their heads. Whats the scripture about the son who looked away from his father’s nakedness and he was righteous? I’m so grateful for your ladies. Only chatting here about my recent years changes. I am a mama and my eldest is 13, youngest 10. I stared modeling that modesty is for everyone, in front of everyone except our spouse who is to be in union as one. And it sets a defined line that also sets their body boundary firm to not be groomed for improper relationships with any family member that could be struggling with an unknown sin. I am only providing these thoughts because you ladies opened your hearts to ask about it. And in case these things I’m seeing for my own family, might be something you could use for yourself or someone else in your witnessing journey. God bless lovely souls.
